Volunteering for the Curacao Triathlon Association. (CTA)

It is already a known fact that with many organizations, clubs or associations that organize periodic competing games or the like events, successful completion often depend on kind hearted people that contribute voluntarily.

As a CTA volunteer you would be called upon regularly to assist at our events. Our usual program lists 7 events per year of which 2 are especially geared towards minors, being the Kids-Tri.

The many volunteers that handle the many activities include:

-         CTA Board Members

-         The Games Commission that organizes the events

-         The volunteers, who do the field work (taking care of control, water distribution, manage traffic along the route and generally look after the safety of the participants)

-         The Road Runners Club, who manages game timing and determine the results

-         The Red Cross, that provides first aid.

-         The Citro, that looks after the safety in the sea

-         Coordinator Sea-route, who takes care of the buoys and related aspects

-         De management of the Base Location Facility where the triathlon is held and who’s facilities we use

And the somewhat behind the scenes organizations that provide:

-         Design of logos and printing of T-shirts

-         Transportation of the CTA container, of the generator, the storage racks etc.

-         The walkie-talkies and chargers

The CTA has been able to depend on a average of 35 volunteers that are invited by phone, e-mail, sms, regular mail, through our website or in person.

As a gesture of appreciation they provided with the opportunity to participate in the now pretty well know Pasta Evening held at Cafe Banana where they can register officially as a CTA volunteer for the next event. During the event they will wear the special event CREW T-shirt, which identifies them and makes them recognizable as a game official to the participants and spectators. To cover their time at Control Post they are provided with water, juice, Powerade and a snack. At the end of the event the CTA arranges transportation back to the Base Location for  the volunteers where they are provided with free tickets for a meal and drink.

Seeing that the number of participants to our events keeps increasing, so does the need for volunteers, also because sometimes there are last minute unforeseen cancellations by volunteers. We welcome any new volunteers.

Interested??  Questions???  Want to help in the next event????
